Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

INDEPENDENT USED truck dealership Smith Brothers Services is now selling new Chieftain trailers . "We heard Chieftain was looking for a distributor in the North-West, so we decided to give it a go," says Steve Smith.

"The range includes Category 1 and Category 2 step-frame three and four-axle trailers as well as triaxle 44-tonne steel

bodied tipper trailers that can be used to transport stone and demolition rubble," he reports. Other models will be added to the line-up in the future. "Its too early to say how many we'll self annually, but we're optimistic."

Smith believes operators buying used tractor units from the dealership who also want a trailer will boost Chieftain sales. And trailer buyers should have a positive impact on demand for second-hand units, he adds.

Used sales are starting to improve after a post-Christmas lull, says Smith, with clean, older units acquired as part-exchanges in demand alongside late-registered, low mileage examples: "Business is now quite steady as our regular customers come back to us.''
