for 1962 was published recently. It contains nearly 700 pages of facts and figures about European road travel and has a completely new atlas which extends into the Balkans to cover a greater area than in previous editions and clearly indicates all main roads and motorways throughout Europe.

Some 4,000 hotels in 20 different countries are listed in the handbook. A new appendix on touring in Russia is included, while a glossary gives a list of motoring terms and technical expressions in 11 languages and there are currency rates and conversion tables.

Toe Jack THE latest addition to the range of Simplex hydraulic jacks available from The Equipment and Engineering Co..

Ltd., Norfolk Street, London, W.C.2, is a toe jack—Model S159. It is said that this new jack is capable of lifting its full capacity of 15 tons on the toe.

High and low speed pumps are incorporated in the jack and to make operation easier in confined spaces, the lever bar is only 19 in. long. The.jack weighs 64 lb. and has a closed height of 17 in. Minimum toe height is 2 in., and a lift of 9 in. is provided.

Circlip Pliers

THE range of &clip pliers made by j. W. Pickavant and Co., Ltd., Apkoway Works, Bow Street, Birmingham. 1, has been extended by the introduction of a new model, JWP 333. These pliers have been designed specially for the fitting and removal of

butt-ended and wire circlips and are suitable for those with internal diameters of from in. to 21 in. Indents on the rightangled jaws ensure positive location. Trade price of the IWP 333 pliers is I8s.

Thread Restorer ATOOL designed to restore damaged threads is now available from G. E. Simm (Engineering), Ltd., 27 Bromsgrove Road, Sheffield, 10. It is known as the Bucki and is made in five sizes which cover all thread forms from 11.in. to 12 in. in diameter.

In use, the tool is applied to the thread farthest from the end of the component and rotated to run it off the part. The action of the tool is to roll the thread back into shape—not to cut the metal.

Price of the smallest size is £4 I 9s. The largest costs £49 10s.
