DESPITE a submission on behalf of the B.T.C.. that the applicants should be penalized for illicitly transferring vehicles from St. Helens to• Liverpool without notifying the Licensing Authority, the North Western Deputy Licensing Authority, Mr. A. IL Jolliffe, granted in full an application by H. I. Huyton, Ltd., at. Liverpool last Friday.

The application was to operate 16 vehicles on A licence with the normal user "General goods, Great Britain as sub-contractors to J. and H. Transport

Services (Peckham), Ltd." A further application for a maintenance vehicle was refused.

Two whole days had been devoted to the case previously, and last Friday's hearing was devoted to submissions.

Mr. G. H. P. Beames, for British Railways, said that apart from the change of base, the evidence did not justify a grant.
