Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

PRoviNCIAL governments have been authorized by the Government of Pakistan to nationalize road transport. State control will take place gradually and for the present will .be confined to the -Punjab, the North-west Frontier Province and Sind.

It is expected that all passenger services in West Pakistan will be nationalized within five years. Goods haulage will continue in private hands for the time being.

The central government will contribute through the railways 25 per cent. of the total capital of the nationalized services in each province, the provincial government contributing 75 per cent.

The services will be administered by a Road Transport Board in each province. Charges will be fixed by each province in consultation with the R.1. B. The assets of Private operators will be acquired by the provincial governments, provided that the operators are willing to sell.

Because funds are needed for more essential schemes the further nationalization of road transport in Madras has been deferred.

MORE SUPPLIES OF TIMBER THIS YEAR

A CHANGE in Government policy Pt will ensure the import in 1951 of much greater quantities of soft woods. Total imports may well be twice as great ,as in 1950.

Mr. G. B. Crow, deputy chairman of the Timber Development Association, gave this information at a Press conference in London last week. The T.D.A. is to launch a publicity campaign to re-educate consumers in the merits and availability of wood.

"Twelve years of repression in the use of a material vital to industry and housing has in part destroyed its natural markets and created inhibitions in the minds of users. These tendencies we hope to correct." he stated.
