The sensational rise in London General ordinary stock, on Monday last, reached high-water mark at 122.

On and after 25th March, the offices of Trackless Trolley, Ltd., will be at 112, Great Portland Street, W.

Progress at Peckham.

Tilling's seven new petrol-electric motorbus chassis are well in hand in the company's Bull Yard s.kops ; it is anticipated that these new vehicles will be on the road by the middle of May.

Steamers' New Stable, The new garage for the fleet of the Metropolitan Steam Omnibus Co., Ltd., at Lots Road, Chelsea, which is to have accommodation for 100 machines, is making steady progress, and it is anticipated that the change-over from Hammersmith will be completed well before the corning season of festivities commences.

A New Registration.

Barnsley Motor Co., Ltd., with an authorized capital of g2,0oo in Li shares, by Jordan and Sons, Ltd., 116-7, Chancery Lane, W.C., to take over the business of motorcar and motor-char-a-banes proprietors and general carriers, carried on as the Barnsley Motor Co., at 13, Pitt Street and Summer Lane, Barnsley. First director, A. Polding (permanent).

Messrs. MacDonald and Co., Ottawa, agents for the Albion Motor Car Co., Ltd., have booked another order for an Albion charh-bancs for the Buckingham Rapid Transit Co., Ltd. This makes tht fourth of these cars the Buckingham Co. has in use---an excellent testimony to Canadian opinion of the Albion chassis.

Albion cars have recently scored another success in Canada by maintaining an uninterrupted motorbus service between Ottawa and Ridgemount during a three-day snowstorm when every other means of transport had been rendered inoperative. Of a large batch of the new L. G.O.C. B-type machines which were recently submitted to Scotland Yard, fewer than half were passed on that occasion.

A proposal by the Irish Tourist Development Association to initiate a scheme of motor transport in the district of Ologheen has secured an assurance from the district council of full co-operation.

"The Westminster Gazette," in the course of a notice on the decline of the L.C.C. tramway receipts, which are down from 12.16d. (of the early days) to I0.35d. per tram-mile at present, makes an amusing error by referring to the silent model of motorbus, which is now being run extensively by the L.G.O.C. as the new " B. X." type.

Malvern Wants Motorbuses.

A resolution has been adopted by the Malvern Urban Council unanimously expressing an opinion that a good system of motorbuses would be the most-advantageous method of inter-communication between the Malverns. Sir Henry Grey said that, if the company now promoting the Malvern Electric Traction Bill in Parliament would content itself with the proposal to run motorbuses, power for which was sought under the Bill, and dropped its scheme for trackless trolleys, it would meet, with no opposition from the council. He objected very strongly to the place being disfigured by a system which might turn out to be a failure.

Horses the Worst Offenders.

West Ham Town Council has received a letter from the Commissioner of Police relative to complaints as to the nuisance caused by the splashing of mud by motor vehicles. The Commissioner says : "From time to time the police have kept observation on the traffic, with the view of ascertaining the actual nature of the nuisance of mudsplashing. It was noticed that mud is splashed higher and for a longer distance by the feet of horses than by motor omnibuses. In wet weather all forms of fast-moving traffic splash mud to a greater or less extent, especially on certain road surfaces. In the circumstances the Commissioner does not feel justified in going beyond what he has already decided, viz. : to allow proprietors to fit any approved form of mudguard if they so desire." Those who are opposing the introduction of motor-driven publicservice vehicles in Scarborough, state that before the arrival of motor chars-a-hazes in that town, their trade was worth £10,000 per annum, but it is now estimated not, to be worth more than £2,000 per annum.

Manchester Muddles.

We have received a number of reports of the unsatisfactory running of the motorbuses belonging to the Manchester Corporation, from Palatine Road to Northenden. The service has been in operation for about 15 weeks, and is maintained by a 36 h.p. Ryknield vehicle and a Crossley of unknown power. It is not easy to understand why the Corporation did not insist that this service should be maintained by machines of the same type, and it is regrettable that it is not better maintained.
