Title: MD of Isuzu Truck (UK) Career history: aged 40, King took a job as administration manager at a Ford dealership and within seven years she became MD. She then joined Lex as national fleet sales director and, in 1996, was appointed by Lex to set up a distributorship for Isuzu Motors of Japan. In 2004, King led a management-buy-out of the Isuzu import business. Today, Isuzu Truck (UK) has more than 60 dealers nationwide and annual turnover of £35m.
Accolades: ● Awarded OBE in 2002 for services to the road transport industry.
● Chairman of the CV Show for two years.
● First woman on the Council of the IRTE (now the Society of Operations Engineers).
● 2009 winner of the Lifetime Achievement Award at the First Women Awards.
● Awarded honorary doctorate at Staffordshire University in 2010.
