AT FIRST BLUSH the idea of a motor manufacturer spending nearly four years in planning to get cars off the road is, to say the least, perverse. In the case of Renault, which imports up to 40,000 cars a year through Goole and has been driving them through the conjested town centre to the industrial estate for ultimate delivery by rail or road transporters, it has merit.
