Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

The SP811's technical characteristics are claimed to exceed original requirements. Tests show that the tyre is capable of a wider range of applications and is suitable to an all-axle fitment with no limitations to a vehicle's range or operating conditions.

The main claims for the "dual purpose" SP811 include good traction, durability and economy.

The tread configuration and tread pattern are designed to provide maximum abrasion resistance, efficient drainage and, for fuel savings, reduced rolling resistance. Tests indicate an improvement in fuel consumption of up to two per cent over major competitors which, if measured under ideal operating conditions, represents savings of up to 225 gallons per vehicle per annum.

Further economies are achieved through carcase design. The SP811, like all other Dunlop heavy truck radials, is produced in "optimum ply" casings whereby the moulded and inflated shape is matched to minimise stress at the breaker edge and shoulders. This computer-assisted technique greatly increases opportunities for retreading.
