Joining the board of directors of Red Funnel Group's newest company, Vectis Transport Ltd, is George Cresswell. Mr Cresswell was previously employed as transport manager with Vectis Roadways Ltd and in all has spent 23 years with Red Funnel and its associated companies.

Mike Dibb has been appointed a director and general manager, John Midlane has become operations director and Geoffrey Markham becomes Rentco's financial director.

On the passenger front this week the Confederation of British Road Passenger Transport has announced the, name of their new second in command.

He is Derrick Rossiter who has been appointed secretary to the Confederation. Mr Rossiter has spent the past 28 years overseas and brings to the confederation wide experience in transport administra tion at policy level.

The National Bus Company have announced that Cyril Buckley, managing director of London Country since 1970, will be retiring at the end of July.

Mr Buckley joined the bus industry 47 years ago as a trainee with Crosville Motor Services Ltd of which he eventually became general manager and director in 1965. He has also served as a member of the executive board of NBC and is currently a member of NBC's Southern Regional Management Committee.
