-t-1 A STRIKE by Italian hauliers from today was threatened on Tuesday by the Italian Federation of Road Transport Companies. They are protesting against new construction and use regulations to come into effect on January 28. The iegulations place new restrictions on the length, height and loads of vehicles and trailers, and establish new speed and interval limits on the road. For instance, it is proposed to require a space of at least 100 yd. between each vehicle.

It is reported that about half of Italy's heavy vehicles, including buses, would become illegal. Moreover, many present production models and new vehicles about to be introduced would have to be discarded.

The Federation are dissatisfied with amendments to the regulations included in a Bill which has been submitted to . Parliament.
