-rHE C.M.U.A. Bulletin, dated 1 January 14, refers to alterations in the 'arrangements for the supply of double-deck buses. Originally, Lop) of these were to be made available during 1942, but the 500 to be produced by one important concern have been cut, although the other 500 will still be produced by another maker, the first allocation of which should be available this month.
The only prodaction programme for single-deckers likely to be proceeded with at an early date is that for 32-seaters with standard bodies. Those who require the latter type should send in their applications at once to the headquarters of the Regional Transport Commissioners in their particular areas.
ALBION MOTORS REPORT FOR
1940
£ report of Albion Motors Ltd., for 1940, issued a few days ago, shows a profit, including that earned by a subsidiary cOmpany, and after making provision for depreciation and

all charges, of £121,498. The dividend paid on the preference shares for the year, at the rate of 6 per cent. per annum (less tax), took £8,032, whilst the lf per cent, (less tax) interim dividend on the ordinary shares absorbed £37,305.
After taking into account £50,000 transferred to the reserve fund, and bringing in the balance of £55,520 from the previous year, there remains a balance of £81,681. The payment of a final dividend of 5 per cent. (less tax) on the ordinary shares involves £24,870 and leaves £56,811 to be carried forward.
CLEARING HOUSE CONFERENCE APPOINTMENTS
AT a meeting of the National Conference of Road Transport Clearing Houses, held last Tuesday, Mr. F. C. G. Mills was re-elected chairman, and Mr. John Miller a ,vice-chairman. Two other gentlemen, Messrs. M. Harrish and C. H. Matthews, have also been appointed as vice-chairmen, whilst Mr. L: C. Andrews become t honorary treasurer.
