A WOMEN-ONLY truckers club has been inundated with membership applications after being featured in a Channel 4 documentary. MotherTruckers, which aired on 9 February, featured three members of the Lady Truck Drivers UK Club as they juggled the demands of the industry with those of family life.
Wendy Priestly, one of the organisers of the club who runs Lincolnshire-based Priestly LGV with husband Les, adds: “I’ve had lots of emails and letters from women saying it has inspired them to pursue a career in driving.”
The show attracted 1.7 million viewers and can be seen on www.channel4. com/programmes
