Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

Next week I’ll be heading to Fairbanks, Alaska, where I’ll be travelling up and down the legendary 414-mile Dalton Highway in an 18-wheeler with Ice Road Truckers’ star Lisa Kelly. It’s every truck driver’s dream and I can’t wait for it.

But unfortunately Mrs Shiers isn’t quite so excited about my trip. You see, I made the mistake of showing her an episode of Ice Road Truckers yesterday.

Phrases like "deadliest road", "freeze to death", "a wreck in every ditch", "the truck plunges into the frozen depths" and "the beautiful Lisa Kelly" have got her somewhat worked up!

Naturally I tried to reassure her that the programme purposely exaggerates the dangers, and that over-emphasising them is quite simply a way of making it more exciting for the viewers – but she was having none of it.

Suddenly I had a brainwave. I found an episode of Eddie Stobart: Trucks and Trailers on catch-up, and made her sit through it. After a few minutes, the narrator was explaining the life and death situation of having to deliver a truckload of cream cakes to Tesco. He made the M6 sound more like the road from Jalalabad to Kabul! Job done – she finally got it.

But in truth, I have to confess to being a little bit nervous. After all, unlike the M6, the Dalton Highway really is one of the most dangerous roads in the world, especially in February when the temperature plummets to -50°C!
