Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

RE: AGENCY drivers: the necessary evil? (CM 2 February), as CEO of the UK’s leading specialist supplier of logistics staff, including agency drivers, what I’m about to say shouldn’t come as a surprise. Of course standards of professionalism vary in all lines of work. But we know that, thanks to our selection process and ongoing training in subjects like fueleficient driving, our agency drivers are among the best in the business – a genuine asset to any transport operator.

My advice to all transport managers is: use agency drivers for emergency cover and also strategically; be selective; brief them well and, used properly, what you’ll get from agency drivers is more lexibility and lower overall operating costs.
