MORE than half the NFC employees (13,514) now hold shares in the consortium, but the directors want to spread its

• ownership even wider. A campaign to this end will be mounted next month and shares are to be offered to over 2,500 SPD employees as well as to those of the NFC's recent American acquisition, Merchants Home Delivery Service, of California.

Those who have never bought shares in the NFC before will be able to borrow the money. The way will be made even easier for them if the 50p shares are split into five of 10p each. Those who do not take up the offer should have their heads examined.
