KLOCKNER Humbldt-Deutz is reported to be about to purchase a controlling interest in Motorenwerke Mannheim (MWM).
Both companies are West German manufacturers of diesel engines, MWM manufacturing a range of water-cooled engines rated from 50 to 250hp while KHD is the Deutz Engines parent which specialises in aircooled diesels.
MWM is currently a subsidiary of Knorr Bremse, the large brake manufacturer.
