SEAMUS SWEETMAN, a nonexecutive director of MercedesBenz (United Kingdom), died on February 1. He was 70.
Mr Sweetman, who was also deputy chairman of the Price Commission from 1977 to 1979, joined the board of the West German vehicle manufacturer's UK subsidiary in 1980. Before his civil service job he had spent many years with Unilever, culminating with the vicechairmanship from 1974 to 1979.
