AThe ban is based on length only, so
far as we know, and not weight. It is quite feasible therefore to run a 32-ton-gcw artic with a 30ft semi-trailer which complies with the minimum inner axle spread for 32 tons of 4.4m (13ft Payload on such a short combination could be as high as 22 tons of a suitable commodity. Fulllength attics (49ft 2-1-in.) will still be allowed to start and finish journeys inside the area.
