from Dover to countries in and beyond the EEC. We have been told that it is illegal to operate in the EEC a vehicle which is not licensed as a psv 1,1 the UK. Could you tell us jf this is true?
A We have raised your query with the Department of the Environment in London. They state that there is nothing to stop you using a non-psv in the EEC. In fact the regulations regarding this continue unchanged. However, from April 1 drivers of any passenger vehicle with more than nine seats, travelling between member states, will have to comply with new rules regarding driving hours, and records will have to be kept. These rules, contained in EEC Regulation 68/297, were fully detailed on page 20 of the January 26 issue of CM.
