Well, we can sympathize with the comments and feelings (CM February 2) of Mr T. E. Osbourne, of Truckcare Ltd, about operators who do not settle up their accounts on time for the help and repairs given when in an emergency.

Speaking from our own experience, we are very grateful for the help given to our drivers when they have been caught out. For lack of assistance from the garages must surely increase costs and also cause more inconvenience with operators' customers.

• So operators everywhere, big or small, let us please try to co-operate more, as we expect them to, and so try to keep our part of the industry in good repute.
