Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

body on an eight-wheeled rigid chassis. Can you give some rough idea of what such a vehicle would cost to run?

A Estimating the likely operating cost to a

reasonable standard of accuracy requires much more detailed information than has been given. But as a starting point it can be reckoned that a rigid eight-wheeler with standard platform body averaging, say, 800 miles a week would cost 27.87d a mile to operate.

This calculation is based upon an initial cost of £5,190. Where a special-type body such as the one you have in mind is fitted then the interest charged on the extra cost would have to be added to the estimate already given (i.e. the weekly interest charge divided by 800).

Also there could be additional maintenance costs if the special-type body included discharge equipment and its resale value at the end of its working life may be lower than the price which would be obtained for a corresponding vehicle with a standard platform body.
