Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

Keywords : Trucks, Vehicle Recovery

As a subscriber to your 24-hour breakdown and recovery service advertisement column for the past six months. I feel that I should comment on behalf of my particular garage. For although my advert also says distance no object, this naturally has to be taken with discretion.

I would expect no argument if I stated that I had the largest recovery vehicle in Yorkshire (if there was, you should be the judge on statistics offered) and on occasions we would expect to be called much farther with this vehicle than we would, say, in order to fit a new top water hose. This does not, however, mean that the small jobs do not have the same preference: these are governed by what the vehicle operator would consider within his costing.

Often we hear of instances similar to that of the complaint but usually they are during non-working hours, when drivers (after ringing round) have eventually telephoned us. And we don't know of a case yet where we have not helped (having several fitters on phone and each taking week about standby duty). We have formed the opinion that the only reason a 24-hour service is advertised by some garages is to get a few more of the daytima jobs.
