Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

• The purchase of another 52 doubledeck buses designed for o-m-o was approved by Newcastle City Council last week. They will cost a total of £415,000 and will replace buses in the fleet which are now 18 years old. Newcastle City Transport already has 30 double-deckers designed for o-m-o on order.

The new buses will be Leyland Atlanteans with bodywork by Walter Alexander and Co. (Coachbuilders) Ltd. and are due for delivery by mid-1969.

The council also approved the purchase of 12 Leyland Panther rear-underfloorengined chassis at £3,207 15s each, to be fitted with Alexander bodies designed for o-m-o and costing £3,795 each.
