Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

A NEW non-tipping hopper pressure tanker

• which they claim to be the lightest, lowest .nd most stable on the market has been introduced iy Crane Fruehauf Trailers Ltd.

Known as the Bulk Leader, the new tanker is an mglicized version of the American Fruehauf 3ig I pressure tanker, of which several thousand ire in service in the USA.

Like the range of vehicles which they super;ede, Bulk Leaders feature air fluidization distharge, and are available in mild steel, aluminium sod stainless steel.

Capacities, with two, three or four hoppers, -ange from 650 Cu. ft. to 1,450 cu. ft.

The light weight of the vehicles compared with L'rane Fruehauf's previous modelsand those )f other manufacturers it is claimed—is due to he replacement of non-load-carrying cones at front and rear with a girder structure supporting the suspension and upper coupler.

The low height, ranging from 12 ft. to 13 ft. 6 in., and consequent exceptionally low centre of gravity, has been achieved by the use of under slung F2 suspension.

The design also gives better weight distribution by bringing the engine and blower unit, when fitted, from the rear to the front on a platform over the kingpin. This brings the added benefit of removing the engine and blower from a vulnerable position at the rear of the tank where it would be subject to vibration while running unladen.

The discharge pipe terminates at the rear of the vehicle, between the wheels. Discharge is achieved by passing air at low pressure into the tank through coarse fabric one-way filters. This fluidizes the portion of the load in the immediate vicinity, causing it to flow into product outlet pipes feeding into the discharge pipe. In the discharge pipe the product meets a high speed air stream which carries it to its destination. Quickrelease hopper outlets are provided for ease of clean down.

Hopper outlet valves are 5 in. in diameter, and the discharge outlets and discharge pipe 4 in. Air supply lines are 3 in. in diameter.

Standard fittings include a full-length walkway, ladder, tank and discharge lines, pressure gauges, • two safety relief valves, and an adjustable upper coupler.

Axles, mounted above the springs, are 5 in. tubular, 20,000 lb. rating, brakes are 161 in. by " 7 in. `S'-cam type, with three-line air operation. Landing gear is Crane Fruehauf two-speed, lights 24 volt M.o.T. standard (with operator light over pressure gauges) and tyres 4.00-20, 14-ply rating.
