Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

ALMOST TWO years after unveiling it at the IAA CV show in Hannover in 2010, Scania is offering its CO2-reduction package to the UK.

Dubbed Ecolution, it is a combination of vehicle speciication and leet management services designed to cut CO2 emissions by reducing fuel consumption. Scania has applied it to its own inhouse haulage operation, running between its factories in Sodertalje, Sweden, and Zwolle in the Netherlands, and claims to have reduced its fuel usage by 25% in six months.

Ecolution has four main elements. It starts by tailoring the speciication of the new truck to the particular operation, looking at topics such as axle-ratio, air-management kit, the speed-limiter setting and even renewable fuels such as biogas. This is followed by driver training. The vehicle repair and maintenance contract is enhanced to include additional economy-related issues such as tyre-pressure and axle-alignment checks.

Finally, there is a driver follow-up service to reinforce the initial training by regular feedback on driver performance, using data garnered from Scania’s OnBoard vehicle telematics system.
