To those outside the road transport industry, it can seem a totally foreign environment. Elwell, however, recognises the importance of employing a sound haulier to handle its goods. On the firm's website the company describes itself as "responsive" and "flexible". It has 18 metal roll-forming lines and can guarantee next-day delivery -when the goods are ready, Wilde Transports responsible for getting them to customers' sites.
This year, 18 cold roll forming lines will have the capacity to make more than two million metres of product a month. LA Elwell is able to operate 24 hours a day, seven days a week.
The firm has invested in new roil-form technology to enable it to make light steel framing and structural beams.
