BIRMINGHAM-BASED van manufacturer LDV has been named UK company of the year by the Institute of Transport Management (ITM).
LDV was bought by Russian manufacturing giant GAZ last year; since then production is up and delivery times down.
It beat Virgin Trains and British Midland Airlines into runners-up positions in the awards.
An ITM spokesman says: "LDV, a company with very strong British roots, today sits at the top of an ultracompetitive light vehicle market."
