Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

A security firm has been appointed to patrol Moto's Poplar 2000 truckstop; the RHA welcomes the news. Roanna Avison reports.

MOTO IS TO increase security at its Poplar 2000 truckstop off the M6 at Lymm, Cheshire, following a spate of incidents at the site.

A spokesman admits that its existing security does not include any patrols of the 350 LGV parking spaces; the company has now appointed a specialist security company to patrol the site between llpm and 7am.

Most of the incidents at Lymm have involved curtainsiders being slashed and in some cases the goods being stolen. The spokesman adds: "We're aware that these things have happened and this is our attempt to reduce the amount of crime on the site."

Chrys Rampley, manager for infrastructure at the Road Haulage Association, welcomes the increased security: The challenge with these slashings is that unless you catch someone redhanded it is very difficult to ever solve the crime, so patrols on the site may help."

She adds that any security is better than nothing: "The Lymm site has fencing around the perimeter, but it no longer has barriers at the entrance and exit because it's all done on number plate recognition, so it's easy for anyone to gain access to the site."
