A CONTRACTOR of the year award (Midland distribution division) is presented by CPC (United Kingdom) Ltd to a firm that excels in some way. This year it has gone to William Cooper and Sons (Carriers) Ltd of Prestatyn which works closely with another NFC subsidiary, North Western British Road Services.
A Caithness-engraved glass bowl and a cheque have been presented by Tony Garvey, CPC's commercial director, to Kevin Evans, Cooper's transport manager, in recognition of his company's break-bulk operation out of CPC's central warehouse at Trafford Park, Manchester. It calls for the use of up to 20 vehicles a day.
