NEWS IN BRIEF Easier Entry Into Austria: The Austrian Government has abolished the regulations by which a Carnet de Passage and a Triplyque is required for the entry into Austria of foreign goods vehicles and trailer. These documents were previously required for all but private cars, station wagons, buses, ambulances and small trailers.

International Transport in Austria: The Austrian Government announced that of a total of 27,418,736 metric tons of goods transported across the Austrian border last year, some 13 per cent travelled by road, 18 per cent by water and 69 per cent by rail.

Lorry Tyres Theft: Thieves who broke into the depot of Federated Road Transport Services Ltd., in Farndon Road, Market Harborough, by breaking a window in the tyre store, stole 10 lorry tyres worth £292.

Ishervroods Expands: Another depot, wliich will handle 100,000 gal. of V.I.P. petrol daily, has been opened at Ellesmere Port by Isherwoods Petrol Co. I.td. This completed a 12-month programme which started with the construction of an ocean terminal at Barry, followed tip by the opening of a storage depot at Immingham.
