Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

AT a recent meeting held at Swadlincote, in the west-midland area of the Road Haulage Association, Mr. W. Donaldson Wright and Mr. L. W. Gupwell dealt effectively with questions affecting road hauliers. Small committees were formed for the purpose of obtaining the membership of those who are not yet in the Association, and a further meeting is to take place in the near future. This district has made remarkable strides in the extent of its membership.

In the east-midland area Mr. W. Donaldson Wright and Mr. F. Platts, of Leicester, are working hard and trying to beat the record of the west-midland area. Meetings have recently been held at Derby, where there appears to be a good deal of enthusiasm shown in the work of the Association.

Two meetings of the Association have recently been held in the northern area. At one, at Newcastle, the council of the Association was represented by the secretary, Mr. G. A. Hotter, whose address was received with great interest. A meeting was recently also held at Carlisle, where the chairman of the Association. Mr. E. C. Marston, supported by Mr. F. P. Fowler, late chairman of the Short Distance Hauliers Alliance, delivered a stirring address.

Considerable enthusiasm was displayed, and the result was a satisfactory addition to the membership.

A sub-committee was appointed for 1334
