Ford has record market share

FORD HAS ACHIEVED a record market share of 28,8% for March, despite a dramatic 43% fall in overall LCV sales.

The figure, based on 10,136 vehicle sales for the month, is the highest since November 2000, when Ford took 30.4% of the market, But compared with the same period in March 2008, sales have actually fallen by 38%.

Ford's total CV sales for the first three months of the year have dropped by 46,318 units compared with 2008, Steve Kimber, the Blue Oval's commercial vehicle director, says: "The results mean that one-in-every-three commercial vehicles sold in March was a Ford. It is further proof that, especially In the current climate, operating costs are at the front of everyone's mind,"
