Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

I WAS sorry to see from your announcement on page 62 A of your issue of April 2, that Filament Wound Reinforced Plastics have given up their work on plastics road tanks.

I do feel it isunfair to blame operators for the failure of this side of the business, as this has been far from our experience. The interest and encouragement shown by the road haulage industry has encouraged us to launch a substantial expansion programme for both road tanks to be used on rigid chassis and the new and exciting development of frameless articulated units. We expect that by next August, frameless articulated plastic tanks, having very substantial weight advantages, will be in service with several of the major haulage companies.

It might be appropriate to point out that whilst we at Tough Plastics appreciate the strength of glass filament and use it in its correct application, our tanks, use a complex glass reinforcement system, providing the overall best weight/strength/cost ratio.

Culcheth, P. W. MICHELSON, Ni'. Warrington, Lancs. Managing Director, Tough Plastics Ltd.
