AN AEC bogie incorporating two-spring suspension of the type used On dumper models is employed on a timber haulage pole trailer just put into service by E. Whation and Sons Ltd.,. timber merchants, of Hartwell, Nofthants. The bog.e is equipped with Goodyear Super Singles, as is the rear axle of the AEC Mandator tractive unit which hauls the semi-trailer arid which is Plated for 30 ton's gross. The unladen weight of the whole outfit is 8 tons 11 cwt. • The semi-trailer was constructed on the AEC bogie by the Whatton company, and has fore and aft bolsters carrying tubular stakes. The whole outfit is 40 ft long and normally carries a load of around 16 tons—which it is in fact seen transporting in the accompanying photographs.
