Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

Although there are still over 40,000 Ford Escort vans on our roads, incredibly only 55 of them are Mk2s. However, the tide has definitely turned (on account of the Mk2 having some classic status now), and over the last four years only two were scrapped.

But one Ford van which is a long way from gaining any collector appeal is the Mk3 Transit – the original slope-nose version. In the mid 1990s the most popular model was the ‘100’, with 50,000 examples on the road. Since then almost 49,000 have been scrapped, and they continue to disappear at an alarming rate.
