INTERNATIONAL HAULIER: 2-10 VEHICLES LOCATION: Killeens; Crossbarry, Co Cork FOUNDED: 1993 CONTACT: Denis 0' Regan. MD FLEET SIZE: Six vehicles including three

Scania 144 530s and three Volvo FH12s

CONTRACT: Seafood groupage.

Irish seafood is distributed throughout the Confinent by west Cork-based haulier Orroroco Teoranta.

Founded in 1993 by Denis O'Regan (pictured, with John Murphy), the Crossbarry company now runs six trucks with a staff of eight and provides work for a number of subcontractors.

"We specialise in groupage seafood fresh and frozen,'' says MD Denis O'Regan. "We travel regularly to Spain. France and Italy and elsewhere. We will deliver a direct load of any product anywhere. but seafood is our main work."

The company runs three Scania 144 530s and three Volvo FH12s. Servicing is contracted out and other maintenance and repair work is looked after by a local garage. The company is considering replacing the Scanias before too long.

Regan keeps in regular contact with his clients. "We would haul for the same people all the time. We have something like 40 customers and we are in touch with them all, weekly or even twice weekly."

Forward planning for the company is best summed up as "steady as she goes." O'Regan adds. "Fishing is getting a bit of a whittling away and any expansion would mean taking work off other people and it's competitive enough as it is.'' "So for the future we will do the work we are doing more efficiently."

He has been a member of the IRHA for many years and contributes to charity locally, but prefers not to disclose which ones. "There are so many deserving causes. You tend to look after what's close to your heart," he says,
