Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

Being woken up during the course of the night and asked to move his vehicle has cost a Lancashire driver £550 in fines and costs.

When Graham Beck, of Gorsey Lane, Banks, Southport. appeared before Harlow magistrates he pleaded guilty to making a false tachograph record after he moved his vehicle without putting a chart in the tachograph.

Anthony Ostrin, prosecuting for VOSA, told the court that the offence came to light when Beck was stopped in a roadside check being conducted at South Mimms in Hertfordshire.

When the chart concerned was examined by a traffic examiner it was discovered that there was missing mileage.

Beck said he had parked up on the docks, but had been woken up after three hours and told to move the vehicle. He had understood that he had been parked properly in the first place, but apparently that had not been the case.

The magistrates tined Beck £350 with £200 costs.
