IE HIGHLANDS and Islands evelopment Board is enruraging hauliers to instal Imputer terminals by offering .00 grants to help cover costs r a twelve-month trial period. Once installed, terminals can ilp hauliers locate return loads avoid running back empty am southern Scotland and 'gland. Haulage services can io be offered to potential cusmers nationwide through a ntral computer.
The video terminals are linked either of two national stems, Prestet Datafreight or e Road Haulage Association's irgofax.
The Board maintains that the st year cost of about £1,000 for e computers would be reuped by locating "just a few tra loads".
