International Rules These ap ply to drivers of all laden an, unladen goods vehicles over al/ tonnes maximum authorise, weight, if the driver, or th, vehicle or trailer which he i driving, is going to or comin, from a place outside Grea Britain. The exemptions (1) to (6 inclusive, listed above for till National Rules apply also to thi section. The other exemption: do not apply.
Domestic Rules These rule: apply to the drivers of al vehicles which are exempte, from the two headings alma& described. In fact this mean: vehicles up to and including 31/ tonnes max. authorised weigh and those exempted by items (1 to (12) of the National Rules.
Mixed Driving Rules This cal ers for the driver who works firt under one of the rules above an then under another rule in an period of 7 consecutive days.
For reasons which will will be come apparent later, it is conve fluent at this stage to divid, drivers into two categories Category 1 — those driving al rigid vehicles irrespective o their gross weight or articulate, vehicles or drawbar traile outfits of less than 20 tonne: gross weight; Category 2 — ar ticulated vehicles and drawba trailer combinations which an over 20 tonnes gross weight.
