THE AVERAGE lorry loac moving through the Port ol Dover is increasing, according tc the Dover Harbour Board.

While the numbers of lorriez passing through the port ie down for the month of Sep, tember compared with the previous year (41,283 units trailers and rigids against 41,881 in September 1979) the actua tonnage handled is up frorr 517,271 to 578,447.

Despite the French fisher. men's summer blockade there has also been an increase in the total tonnage handled in the firsi nine months of the year.
