• A rise of 10 per cent in haulage rates was announced by the Bradford and District Hauliers' Federation this week, to take effect on December 1.
This move follows the 174 per cent pay increase of £2 per week awarded to local drivers earlier this month. According to the RHA, last March's budget with its increased fuel tax and new licence duties was bound to put up haulage costs by some 5 per cent. This appears to be reflected in the new rates.
