1600,000 ORDER FOR SCOTTISH BODYBUILDER: Orders which will keep Walter Alexander and Co. (Coach builders) Ltd. busy throughout next year and could lead to an increase in the labour force, have been placed by the Scottish Omnibus group. Alexunders will build 190 bodies, mostly single-deck, for mounting on A.E.C. and Leyland chassis.

A.E.C. TIPPERS FOR HOVERINGHAM : Hoveringham Gravels Ltd., of Hoveringbam, Notts, has ordered six 11-ft. 6-in. wheelbase Mercury chassis to be fitted with 8 Cu. yd. tipping bodies by G. E. Neville and Son Ltd., of Mansfield.

SALES OF DUMPTRUKS TOP 180,000: Orders for A.E.C. 10 cu. yd. Diomptruks worth more than 1'80,000 have been placed by Scottish Land Development, the sole U.K. distributors, during the past two weeks. Sir Lindsay Parkinson and Co. Ltd. will employ eight of these machines on the

Belfast motorway project. Repeat orders have been received from Whatlings Ltd. and Norton Junction Sand and Gravel Co. Lid., amongst others.

SIX-SPEED RELIANCES FOR B.T.S. MOTORWAYS: The Coventry coach operator B.T.S. Motorways Ltd., has ordered six Reliance 470 coach chassis to join its all A.E.C. fleet. The vehicles will incorporate six-speed gearboxes with overdrive top, and will be fitted with 31-ft. 10-in. bodies.

MORE A.E.C. COMMERCIALS FOR SOUTH AFRICA: A.E.C. Vehicles S.A. of Johannesburg has ordered another 30 medium and heavy weight fourand sixwheeled goods chassis. These will be made up of 10 Majestic and eight Marshal sixwheeled chassis and 12 Mandator fourwheeled chassis. REPEAT ORDERS FOR ROE BODIES: Chas. H. Roe Ltd., Leeds, has received a repeat order from Sunderland Corporation for six 77-seat bodies to be mounted on Daimler Fleetline chassis, and from Northampton Corporation for six 59-seat teak/alloy-framed double-deck bodies for mounting on Daimler CVG6 chassis.

EAST LANCS. BODIES FOR RAW TENSTALL: Rawtenstall Corporation Transport Committee lass approved the purchase of three new double-deck buses and recommended acceptance of a tender from East Lancashire Coach Builders Ltd. for the supply of the coachwork at a cast of £3,526 each.

SPECIAL STORE CARRYING BODIES FOR G.P.O.: Rollalong Lid., of Ringwood, Hants. has received an order from the G.P.O. for 40 store carrying lorry bodies. These will be mounted on 3-ton, forward-control, dieselengined chassis, and will be delivered at the rate of four a week from November 20.

MUNICIPAL ATLANTEAN SALES TOP Eim.: An order placed by Bournemouth Corporation for 20 Leyland Atlantean chassis, the first vehicles of this type to be purchased by Bournemouth, brings the tool of Atlanteans recently ordered by municipalities to 74, worth more than f+

The other orders, already announced in The Commercial Motor, were 44 for Nottingham and 10 for Portsmouth. The Nottingham Atlanteans will have dropped centre rear axles to allow a level gangway throughout the lower saloon.
