,THE following senior appointments 1 have been announced by the Leyland Motor Corporation Ltd.:— Mr. Ronald Ellis, formerly general sales and service manager of Leyland Motors Ltd., becomes general manager of the special products and overseas manufacturing division of the Leyland Motor Corporation. He has also been appointed a director of Leyland Motors Ltd. and a director of Self-Changing Gears Ltd. Mr. Ellis joined Leyland Motors as a trade apprentice in 1941, later serving the company in the Americas and Canada for some two years before being appointed sales engineer in 1951. In 1454 he became general manager of British United Traction Ltd. and in 1960 was appointed Leyland's assistant general sales and service manager.
Mr. A. Trevor Webster, who has just returned from Australia where he was manager of Leyland Motors Ltd., has been appointed general sales and service manager of Leyland Motors Ltd. and Albion Motors Ltd. He has also been appointed a director of the two companies. Mr. Webster joined Leyland as a trade apprentice in 1938. After war service he retUrned to the company as assistant to the sales secretary. Later he became executive assistant to the general sales and service manager for three years before becoming Leyland's Australian manager in 1958.
Mr. Trevor L. Hill, chief accountant of Leyland Motors Ltd., has been appointed a director. He is already a director of Scammell Lorries Ltd. Mr. A. C. Brooking has be appointed financial controller (oversc companies) of the Leyland Motor Ct poration. He is a director of sevei overseas companies within the group.
Mr. R. G. Bennett has been appoint general sales manager of A.E.C. Lt with effect from July 1, consequent the retirement of Mr. E. Hollands. Bennett has also been appointed director of A.E.C. He joined the col pany in 1954. In 1961 he became expi manager and at the end of 1963, dept general manager (sales).
Mr. R. C. Tarling has been appoint a director of A.E.C. Ltd. He joined t company in 1955. After two years was appointed to the staff of the coi rnercial director and in 1962 becat -ommercial manager. Mr. Tailing IF appointed deputy sates cornmerc -manager of the Leyland Motor Corpoi tion in January of this year and join the boards of overseas subsidiaries.
