when booking, were allotted not only their seats in the coach, but also the hotel bedrooms which they would occupy en route, were described to the North Western Traffic Commissioners, last Friday, on behalf of Stretford Motors, Ltd.

Mr. J. B. Humphreys (accountant) presented the application, two of the modifications of which fulfilled the new requirements of the Commissioners in connection with all-in tours, namely, that the picking-up points must be routed and the maximum number of vehicles to be run given in the application. The Commissioners again emphasized their decision that applications for extra vehicles beyond those named on the licence will be given only to meet unforeseen circumstances.

The chairman complimented the applicant on this unique system and Mr. Humphreys on the manner in which the information was submitted. He noted, however, that private cars were used to bring passengers to the coach.

Mr. Humphreys: "I find no indication of any charge to the passenger for this facility."

The chairman: "That may mean other people's fares being undercut."

Mr. H. Backhouse (solicitor, C.1VI.U.A.) replied that, if the private cars were on the wrong side of the legal border line, the situation could be remedied by the granting of the picking-up points asked for in the application.

The Commissioners -reserved their decision, in favour of dealing en bloc with a long series of similar applications.
