Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

MAN-ERF dealer Aquila has added LDV to its portfolio. Based at Aldridge near Walsall, the new franchise will trade as West Midlands LDV.

LDV chief executive Steve Young says existing and prospective dealers have a lot more confidence in the marque following last year's takeover by Russian giant GAZ. "It will be the fastest-growing light CV franchise in the UK over the next two or three years," he predicts.

As well as Aquila, LDV has recently recruited two other new dealers— but it is contemplating weeding out two or three of the current incumbents on performance grounds.

The initial investment required by newcomers to the franchise is not enormous, says Young, assuming they already have a suitable site: "It includes signage, some tooling and diagnostic equipment and a minimum stock of parts."

Other requirements include a commitment to ensure technicians and sales staff are suitably trained and a willingness to run at least one demonstrator.
