nISSATISFACTION with the differ ence between their pay and that of London and Birmingham Corporation bus workers is being expressed -by employees of the Birmingham and .Midland Motor Omnibus Ca., Ltd.

At a meeting on Sunday, workers from five B.M.M.O. garages in Birmingham passed a resolution protesting against the gap in pay rates between London and the provinces. Last month workers at a Leicesiter depot of the company called for higher pay (The Commercial Motor, February 22), Further meetings are planned for next week in Brieriey and Worcester.

Aid. A. M. Silcox, a local organizer of the Transport -and General Workers,' Union, said the B.M.M.O. men were also 'dissatisfied at the differentials between themselves and employees of Birmingham Transport Department. In some cases, corporation employees were earning £2 a week more for a similar 'job and similar hours.

Both sides of the National Council for the Omnibus Industry are to meet in London, on Tuesday, to discuss a further claim for a substantial rise in pay for company busmen in the provinces, submitted by the workers' side last month.

LEYLANDS SHOWN At LEIPZIG

ONE of the Leyland Worldmasters being supplied to Poland is on show at the Leipzig Fair this week. A 125 b.h.p. engine is installed, as in 100 other Leyland buses supplied to Poland in recent years. Two-pedal control is employed, and the 44-scat bodywork was built in Denmark by Dansk Auto, Mobil Byggeri.

The steel body frame is connected to the chassis by special anti-vibration mountings, and the remainder of ,the body is built to luxury specification, as the vehicle is one of live to be used on tourist services. Ten city buses are also being delivered.

A Comet oiler is also shown on the Leyland stand at Leipzig, together with a working model of the Leyland-Albion oil engine and a model demonstrating the working of Seammell automatic coupling gear.

The Polish order was gained despite Continental competition.
