Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

I T is understood that Messrs. J. Pear son and Sons (Happy Days Motorways) have agreed to sell their coach services to Ribble Motor Services, Ltd., and Crosville Motor Services, Ltd. Messrs. Pearson are the last independent operators on the London-Liverpool route (which is extended to Southport in the summer), whilst their other operations include a seasonal express service from Liverpool to Blackpool and excursions and tours from Liverpool. It is understood that the firm will continue a garage and hire-car business in Liverpool..

This news is particularly surprising, in view of the fact that Messrs. Pearson recently took over the business of E. J. Jones (Liverpool-London), Ltd. (Imperial Motor Services). The transfer of the Pearson undertaking has yet to be ratified by the Traffic Commissioners.
