Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

• Buyers in the market for a second-hand trailer could pick up their next unit over the Internet, thanks to TIP.

The rental, leasing and sales company is extending its sales network into the World Wide Web with the launch of

www.bid4trailers.com on Monday (19 June).

Buyers will be able to give trailers a virtual once-over through the site, which will give photographs from various angles and detailed specification of each unit. All trailers will also be available for a real hands-on inspection at TIP depots across the UK.

TIP says it expects to sell around 30 trailers over the site at "competitive prices", with bidding on each unit starting on the Monday and closing on Friday. The Manchesterbased company says the site will save buyers time and money while allowing it to sell to a wider customer base.

• Partstrade.com is another venture designed to take advantage of the Internet while bringing suppliers and buyers of aftermarket spares and parts together.

Once signed up, the site aims to allow users to send a request for a needed part to a network of registered suppliers at a key stroke.

Partstrade also aims to provide an online directory of suppliers and buyers who can advertise their offers on the site as well.

Registration to the site, at www.part

strade.corn, will be free until 10 October 2000, when charges of between .115 and 130 a month will be introduced.
