Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

• Because he thought he was not being paid enough money for his job a 53-year-old lorry driver decided to forge fuel receipts, Manchester Crown Court heard last week.

It was alleged that driver Richard Rothwell, of Kenyon Terrace, Little Hulton, near Bolton, had been given £50 by the firm he had worked for, Universal Anchorage Ltd, of Farnworth, Lancs, to buy fuel and to cover accommodation costs. However, Rothwell forged bills in order to claim more money than he had spent.

After pleading guilty to six offences of uttering forged documents, to one of theft of receipts and to one of forgery with intent to defraud, Rothwell was fined £30, ordered to pay £30 compensation and given a ninemonth prison sentence suspended for two years.

His 19-year-old son, James Rothwell, of the same address, was cleared of a joint charge with his father of forging with intent to deceive.
