Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

A. NEW synthetic-rubber compound that is claimed to have given significantly increased .mileage in millions of miles of tests has been adopted as standard for Goodyear tyres, at no increase in cost. The new material is known as Tufsyn and is a specially processed polybutadiene rubber said to offer definite advantages over ordinary rubber.

On some tests the Tufsyn tyres gave up to double the mileage obtained with conventionallycompounded tyres. In addition, tyres made of Tufsyn are said to be less affected by temperature variations and to remain • flexible at low temperatures. • • The improved flexibility is claimed to give improved road holding and reduced rolling resistance, thus adding fuel saving to the other advantages.
